Built for Luxury

How we translated a contractor's high-end vision into a digital presence that commands the same respect as the spaces he builds.

01
Challenge & Opportunity

LH Contractors is a premium construction company serving the North West of England and North Wales, specialising in bespoke interiors, custom kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms, and outdoor transformations. The owner, Liam Houghton, had a clear and uncompromising vision for his business: to be the go-to luxury contractor for clients who want more than a renovation — they want a legacy. The problem was that his digital presence didn't reflect that ambition. The existing site lacked the visual authority, refinement, and storytelling needed to attract high-end clients. It looked like every other trades website — functional, but forgettable. Clients looking for a luxury contractor were landing on a site that didn't signal luxury. The opportunity was to close that gap entirely: build a website as considered and well-crafted as the interiors LH Contractors delivers.

02
Discovery & Research

We started by getting to the heart of what LH Contractors actually sells. On the surface it's kitchens, bathrooms, and renovations. But what clients are really buying is transformation — the feeling of walking into a space that feels like it was made for them. That distinction shaped everything. Through conversations with the owner, we identified the primary audience as homeowners in the North West and North Wales who are investing seriously in their homes and expect a premium, stress-free experience from start to finish. These are clients who compare contractors not just on price, but on trust, taste, and track record. Competitive research across luxury construction and interior firms revealed a common gap: most contractors either looked too corporate or too rough-and-ready. Very few had a site that genuinely felt like luxury — with the typography, imagery, pacing, and copy to match. That gap was the opportunity.

03
Design Strategy

The design strategy was built around a single principle: every element of the site should feel as intentional and premium as the interiors LH Contractors creates. We led with the brand's tagline — Transforming homes into luxury interiors — and built the visual system outward from that idea. A dark, refined palette was chosen to evoke sophistication and contrast against the warmth of the photography. Typography was selected to carry authority without coldness — the kind of presence that signals taste rather than just wealth. The homepage was structured to move visitors through a clear emotional arc: establish credibility, showcase craft, communicate the bespoke process, and make it easy to take the next step. Service sections — custom interiors, kitchens, bedrooms, bathrooms, outdoor projects — were given space to breathe and imagery to anchor them. Copy was written to reflect the owner's voice: confident, direct, and driven by a genuine passion for the craft. The site was built on WordPress to give Liam the flexibility to manage content, add gallery images, and publish blog posts without technical support.

Our role

We owned the end-to-end design and development of lhcon.uk. This included discovery conversations with the owner to understand brand positioning, target audience, and service priorities; competitive analysis across premium construction and interior firms in the UK; information architecture and content strategy; full visual design across desktop and mobile; copywriting aligned to the luxury positioning and the owner's voice; WordPress build with a flexible, non-technical CMS; gallery and blog setup for ongoing content management; and launch support including SEO foundations, performance optimisation, and final QA across devices.

05
Impact

LH Contractors now has a website that does the selling before a single call is made. The luxury positioning is immediate — visitors arrive on a site that looks and feels like the category leader it represents. The clear service structure means potential clients can quickly understand the full scope of what LH Contractors offers, from bespoke media walls and custom kitchens to outdoor landscaping and full renovations. The owner has a platform that reflects his standard of work, supports his growth ambitions, and gives him the tools to manage his own content independently. The site has become a core part of the business's credibility story — referenced in proposals, shared on social, and used to set expectations with clients before the first consultation.

06
Reflection

This project reinforced something we believe strongly: in luxury markets, the website is not a brochure — it's a first impression that either earns trust or loses the enquiry. Liam knew exactly who he was and what he stood for. Our job was to make sure the site communicated that with the same clarity and conviction he brings to every job. The result is a digital presence that doesn't just describe a luxury contractor — it feels like one. When the brief is this clear and the owner's vision this sharp, great design isn't about adding complexity. It's about editing down to what matters and executing it with precision.
